6.5 Months

I have noticed many changes in Miranda over the past month. She is now sitting by herself (with the occasional face plant ending in tears) and really alert. She has discovered that the baby in the mirror is in fact herself! She now giggles so beautifully that it almost makes me cry but definately makes me laugh too - she is infectious in her good nature, smiles and general gorgoeus demeanor. She is developing her fine motor skills and reaches out for objects and can play vrey nicely with friends. We are still continuing with baby hand signs and she is really developing there too. We now get a modified sign for toilet, up, bath and finished. She is making efforts with other signs and making some up too... of course we have no idea what they mean.
I have been feeling well and happy. I have really started to adjust into my role as a mother and cherish each moment. Of course as with any job you get some boring moments like sometimes doing dishes and washing but I really appreciate the opportunity to stay at home as primary carer for hubby and daughter. The future really is in my hands!

Linda is a wonderful friend of mine from Western Australia with two very special children of her own. She found time to knit this special jumper for Miranda... thank you we love it!

Mirnada concentrates on small tasks and is quite remarkable in her ablitites. I give her a lot more freedom and credit to discover more these days - not so much of the cotton wool traetment.

Isn't she so cute????

Isn't she adorable????

Bath time is one her favourite times of the day. She plays and loves to read her bath books. This is a great time for dad and daughter to bond. Tip for new parents: leave the soaping up until the last thing as they can become very slippery....

Playing with her friends - playdates are so much fun. I met Cheryl and Carolyn through the antenatal classes and we have stayed friends, they are both very warm and wonderful people. We also are in a playgroup together. Canberra is very supportive if you look...
